What business person in their right mind is going to offer checks and money orders as a method to pay for orders made online; mainly because it delays completing the order. It is hard work getting loyal customers so you don't want to lose them; providing this service for your customers will see your business flourish.
Instant payment is expected by every internet user so whether you are supplying a service or product you need to be able to send it out as soon as payment is made. You will find that every successful website on the Internet accepts credit cards online; they know that by providing this service, people will keep returning to order more products. The amount of time your website has been up and running is immaterial, as your customers will be unaware of your origins. This should not stop you from organizing online payments before the website is completed.
